May 2016 in Review

May 2016

It’s already June and WWDC is just around the corner, so let’s see what’s been going on around here over the past month.

I have updated two tutorials in May for Xcode 7.3 and Swift 2.2 – here is a bird’s eye view for each of them:

1. For vs While – a Beginner’s approach

What does it teach you: How to compute the sum of all the numbers between 1 and 10.
How does it teach you: By comparing the while and for implementation.
Concepts you will learn along the way: while, repeat-while, for-in, for-each, ranges.

2. If vs Guard – a Beginner’s approach

What does it teach you: How to determine the name of the day of the week for a certain day of the year.
How does it teach you: By comparing the if and guard implementation.
Concepts you will learn along the way: if, guard, enumerations, raw values, switch, case, forced unwrapping, optional binding, failable initialiser, type-casting.

Thank you all for reading my blog – and stay tuned for even more tutorials and surprises this month! 🙂
